About Me and Theo

On September 3, 2016; I said goodbye to my favorite boy. If you’d like to read the letter I wrote to him on our last day together head over here:Dear Theo

I’m Laura and my little pup is Theo! He’s my partner in crime.

A little about me; I work in Animation / VFX film production and it’s been inspiring some of my quilts lately so I thought I’d share!

  • Moana – Look Development (BURBANK, CA)
  • Big Hero 6 – Lighting Dept (BURBANK, CA)
  •  Frozen – Animation Dept. (BURBANK, CA)
  • Legend of Tembo – Asset Models  (PORT ST. LUCIE, FL)
  • Amazing Spiderman – Lighting and Compositing  (ALBUQUERQUE, NM)
  • Arthur Christmas – Asset Models, Stereo Camera, Stereo Lighting  (CULVER CITY, CA)
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs – Technical Animation (CULVER CITY, CA)
  • Open Season 2 – Art Department (CULVER CITY, CA)
  • Surf’s Up – Art Department (CULVER CITY, CA)

My career has taken me across the country. In 2012 I moved from New Mexico to Florida where after 4 months, the studio unceremoniously laid off it’s entire staff due to bankruptcy.  However, in my time in FL, I rescued a little Kooikerhondje named Theo and he’s just a wonderful pup. After I moved back to CA where I am from, he came with me and soon after I started work at Disney, I began quilting as a stress relieving type of activity to combat the long stress filled days at work. (though I DO love my job!)

I started quilting in March 2013

In September 2013 I became a member of the LAMQG (Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild)

Occasionally I’ll post little pics of this guy because he’s half of the name of the blog afterall!
